Maybe the tactics should be that if the refs ignore it, do what the horrible teams do.

Tbf you need that edginess to be in the players it can?t be coached I don?t think, the only one that comes to mind for me in the Notts squad is Robertson.

In that case, the recruitment team have ignored a crucial ingredient for a promotion team.

Maybe 'edginess' doesn't feature in the metrics.

They certainly have, edginess, tenacity, bite l, physicality, call it what you want but it sadly missing in the team and especially in midfield where we are told games tend to won and lost. We aren?t nasty enough. Take away Robertson (injured) and Abbott (loan) and where is the bite, physicality etc. Where are dark arts, the cynical fouls, the nastiness? Sadly lacking in my opinion.

It?s my main and only one of two criticisms of the recruitment team and it was the case under Williams as well.

I don?t think that is what people are saying we are defo lacking the physical element as Elite says and it?s something I?ve said for a while.

You need a mix of both imo and I have no problem if a player is galloping down wing if we pull his shirt or stop him breaking, in an ideal world I don?t like it but in the football world if you don?t do it you are then are a slight disadvantage.

I heard someone on the Circle going on about old players Stubbs and he used the phrase I don?t like ?He let you know he was there? yes I get that but you cannot do that in todays football as you will be sent off 9/10 physical to me means you can tackle, head and be robust and be onto players all game abit like Ryan Yates dirty sod but he is kind we need imo.

Hold on let me just check if I said that?.. no I did not. Not looking for cheating thugs or sh*thousery but would welcome tactical fouls, slowing the play down, the Italian dark arts of defending alongside bite, strength, physicality etc all things to stop us being bullied by teams like Wimbledon

I?d like to see a bit more talking on the pitch and digging out when needed. Didzy absolutely lambasted Platt twice against Wimbledon and for quite a while, apart from that I rarely see anything.

SM has said a couple of times they?re a quiet bunch and I don?t think that?s healthy overall. It?s ok saying SM needs to motivate them but once their over that white line that?s long gone and you need voices on the pitch.

There were quite a few players looking meek and fearful, who shrunk before our eyes. Their responsibility but also the one who picks and prepares them.

We have to see a better showing on Saturday. My minimum hope for the second leg is that we give the cheating thugs a real scare. And that will take the full XI playing with confidence and some anger.

Tbf I couldn?t overly fault Sat, we had more chances and limited them to not a lot. I?d take that again this Sat if someone actually stuck some chances away.

I think it?s been more an issue just generally over the season but that said it did seem like we?d have absolutely been out of sorts on Sat if Didzy had not been on the pitch.
