I thought Maynard said we were going to play in a different way well I didn't see any of it .
We played the same way and got the same result.

Yes,I'm sure he was. But only an "addict" would want more of this piss poor, snivelling, insipid, negative and clueless Maynard ball.
We are on a downward spiral. Players that previously looked OK, Macari in particula, are now dreadful.( What was he doing yesterday for their goal??)
If I can sum up my feelings. I'd say Williams made players believe in themselves, whereas Maynard has no faith in anyone, least of all himself and that has had an impact on moral and output.
Even his supporters can see that he manages by numbers.
For the pedants, manages/coaches, it's the same thing on game day!!!! Managers and Coaches, coach throughout the week and Manage in a game. It's just a title!!

I'd keep Whitaker personally. He's raw but there is something about him that when it clicks, he could be a star. We let go of Colby Bishop who went on to the Championship a few years later for example. I agree he's not a Jarvis level prospect where he'd be a first teamer straight away, but for the right deal, I'd definitely have him on a long term contract.
Also with regards to Wootton and Rodrigues, we weren't burnt by them, the club accepted that they left on a free but they also knew they gave their all until the last whistle. Crowley you couldn't say that about with his comments so they were right to cash in. The other two, they were professional and committed fully to fulfil their contracts and give there all and leave on happy terms with the club and the fans, also helps that both went to teams higher up the pyramid offering substantially more than we could where as MK Dons was a backwards step
Forest have played a low block and countered teams. It?s worked because they?ve played to their strengths of blistering pace, having the ability to move the ball quick and have had an inform striker who has converted the few chances he?s had. It?s absolutely worked for them and they?ve exceeded everyone?s expectations. They?ve recently had injuries to CHO and Chris Wood and have won 1 in the last 7.
In summary, whatever the system, it only works with the best players on the pitch.
Our system isn?t the problem, we either sold our best players or they were injured.
And the irony is a lot of fans don?t seem to have noticed that we did change our style of play when Crowley left. We went far more direct and tried to feed off the front line.
Look at the blocks of form we had this season, it?s no coincidence that it was with 2 of Crowley, Jones and Didzy playing and fit. Nobody complained about the system when we destroyed Grimsby 4-1.
We went into the season with a 28 goal striker, the league 2 player of the season, the pace of Nemane and the creative flair of Dan Crowley.
We?ve finished the season with Junior Morias being our final hope.
Forget systems, forget the manager, we didn?t have enough quality on the pitch!
I'm assuming you didn't attend many games then? It wasn't injuries that forced us to play turgid, walking pace football. I can't remember a single game where I was entertained for the whole 90 minutes. I bang on about Williams but he made players better, he turned Chicken from a left back to a free scoring wing back, Maynard played a left footed wing back who prefers to attack on the right nullifying his effectiveness and making us weak in the wing defensively... I'll let you decide who that player was but there are several correct answers. It's not injuries that cost us automatic promotion

Well if you thought that's what he meant why were you asking him if he was on drugs? He was only saying what the Brothers might do.
Or the quality on the pitch wasn't used to maximum impact, thanks Maynard, Austin left wing back and Jarvis on the bench
Teams that come to the lane often get 10 men behind the ball but then break quickly and you see 4 or 5 of them get into our box. We are slow and predictable and usually there's only Jatta there marked by 2/3 defenders. That's why we hardly get any goals from our midfield players.
If you take everyone?s bias of being ?supporters? the Bros need to remember we are in the entertainment business and what has been offered is painful to say the least to a biased supporter nether mind the casual fan or someone who wants to watch a game.
My real problem is that we could have been much further on if we hadn?t cashed in? on the attacking assets we?ve sold or at least replaced them with known entities , it?s almost like 1 step forward 2 steps back, despite what some think we weren?t unlucky against Wimbledon (or the referee was to blame) they played to our weakness?s and exploited us for what we are, a one dimensional, predictable team. McGoldrick has got us out the **** too many times and relying on that week in week out ultimately that luck runs out, as a team we are too nice, I would have Joe Lewis at Wimbledon in a heart beat. To progress we need the mentality of the owners, coach / manager to change to get us out of this league, it may not be nice but we need to be effective. There?s some good players in the squad (and some unexplainable ****e too) but the whole Meadow Lane experience is line pulling teeth.
Maynard's mentality sounds like that old chant 'Mindless Minority'. Maybe fans could start chanting that in our excruciatingly tedious spells of pointless possession-based football if he stays, which I'm starting to be convinced he will.
