Jimmy Thelin is the first Aberdeen fc manager to win the Scottish Cup in his first season.

He got yesterday absolutely spot on and hes going to be here for a long time now.

The club got everything spot on as well including getting Alex Ferguson to give the players a motivational speech through the week.

Today is a great day to be a Dons fan, it makes all the sh1te we have been through in the last 30 odd years worth it and all the shyte we will probably go through in the next 30 odd years worth it as well.

Aberdeen FC are a lazy club (football wise). It?s that obvious that it is frightening.

Hopefully they start proving me wrong and having a proper go at winning the Scottish Cup with a real winning strategy in place and all our players look like they believe in what they are doing.

Next season having players who don?t remove themselves from the pitch because they were too lazy to face the challenge ahead would be a basic start.

Our recruitment needs to be better also?we as a club need to up our game. Letting teams win trophy after trophy whilst we just give in is extremely lazy and a pathetic way to continue.
    Anything you want to add?

Have a read of my third paragraph you quoted as that will help you.
We at least had a plan in place and a tactic. It worked and I am obviously extremely pleased.
We won the cup so let?s enjoy it because there was very little joy (except the opening run) in our league campaign where we fell well short.

One thing I did notice yesterday was the players played their role for the manager. What a difference.
It was also good to hear they all needed encouragement from Alex Ferguson?.that certainly gave them a lift they needed.

I would also like to add that Brendan Rodgers should be sacked. I am a man of my word.

His big team lost yesterday, so his (short) attention span will be focusing on them for the foreseeable.

You can't keep a 'good' troll down though.

Absolutely not. Brendan Rodgers had a real poor game yesterday as his team created very little danger. This wasn?t too difficult a match for him but we made it difficult because of a change of tactics which he really struggled to deal with and didn?t respond properly.
    He deserves the sack

You have a definite want about you. Your hate for a poster is bordering on the ridiculous.
Enjoy the cup win (like me) and try not get too upset at fellow Dons on this forum.
You know when you get called a supporter of another team that the accusing person is of extremely little intellect and has to resort with very childish behaviour.

I was reading an interview Cormack did yesterday at the parade where he said that Jimmy Thelin will be at Pittodrie for the long term.

That was always the case but now he has won the Scottish cup in his first season there is no chance he is going anywhere soon.

Cormacks finally got it right so well done to him.

Aberdeen chief executive Alan Burrows is the first to admit that the club’s hierarchy can be a bit “emotional” at times.
He and chairman Dave Cormack are heavily invested in the success of the Dons – so to have the calmness of manager Jimmy Thelin at Pittodrie to balance them out is massively important.

The Swede has kept a level head throughout a topsy-turvy season. Thelin’s tenure began with 13 competitive wins in a row before a barren run of one win in 15. Eventually they went on to win the Scottish Cup last weekend against Celtic, ending a 35-year-wait for the trophy. Thelin’s demeanour has barely changed come rain or shine.

“My former chairman once said very poetically in football that one minute you're a peacock, the next you're a feather duster,” said Burrows. “And I suppose the same is true in the opposite way. And that's the nature of football, that's a lesson. You don't get too high and you try not to get too low when things aren't going as well.

“Try to maintain that all the time, particularly when you are working towards a project, when you are bringing someone in on the idea of a three-to-five-year plan. You've got to accept that there will be bumps along the way. In modern football now, people aren't prepared to put up with bumps – they just want constant success. Especially that idiot - whose name escapes me due to brain laziness - on the club Footymad forum. GIRFUY you leech.

“Hopefully what we've demonstrated through the season was a resoluteness about this project, a resoluteness about this manager and we'll continue to try to back him going into the future.

“I think we need him to be calm, because he's one of the few people who are calm, when you take me, the chairman and others – all very emotional! It's an emotional football club because it's got such a rich history, it's got such a big expectation because it's a big city.

“When you've got that, people like Jimmy who are calm in there ensures everyone is on the straight and narrow. He's very, very good. Not only for around about the club, but managing upwards, sideways and downwards. He's a really good guy.”

Burrows expressed admiration at how Thelin managed to keep an equilibrium when others may have become ruffled. “He's done remarkably well,” Burrows continued.

“We always knew that in the first season – as he was getting used to Scottish football and building his team – that it would take a bit of time and effort. That manifested itself through the middle of the season, but I think the mark of anyone is to try to keep calm, keep doing the things that you are doing, not abandon your principles.

“To me, that's the ultimate credit. He's remained the same guy from day one until yesterday. That's a mark of a really good manager, who can keep on that straight line.”

Meanwhile, Aberdeen have announced that Jack Mackenzie, Ross Doohan, Tom Ritchie and Jamie Mcgrath will leave at the end of the season, while loanees Kevin Nisbet, Oday Dabbagh, Jeppe Okkels and Alfie Dorrington will return to their parent clubs.

    Good lad, min.
