I was invited to be the Dons participant, but declined as they’d never have got 30 profane-free minutes out of me, since I believe that the “anti-chants”, pointing out the unsavoury incestuous habits, lack of hygiene, and utter fckuing uselessness and inferiority of almost every other club are generally superior and much more inventive. Of course, I have been known to hum along to a raucous Northern Lights, Stand Free, or Up Yer Erse Wi A Broken Screwtap.
“ Hi,
Hope you're well.
On Colin Murray's BBC 5live programme he and Pat Nevin have a feature called the Great Football Songbook, where they look into the historical origins of football anthems.
I'm looking for an Aberdeen fan as we're going to pre-record an episode next Wednesday August 13th looking at songs associated with Aberdeen FC (historical/current). All done remotely via Zoom and will take about 20/30mins.
No club's story is the same...some clubs have one traditional song and that's it...others have over a dozen linked to them...some are original compositions while others are pop songs.
Might someone you know be available and up for this? It's really good fun!
Thanks,
Carla”
