Your house must be very well insulated or you have got used to sitting in a cold house as these are low radiator settings.

Would that not depend on the radiator and the size of the room as much as the insulation or RRoS' propensity to bear the cold?

It is well insulated, there's about a foot of insulation in the loft.....but nothing else special, normal double glazing.

House faces south which I suppose helps.

heating hasn't clicked on since end of April

Clicks on twice a day between 8 am and 11 am and 6 pm and 9 pm if below 19.5 degrees.

Yesterday it was pretty much 21 degrees all day and 20 degrees at night.

As I say I reckon 1k a month you like sitting in the buff in January.

I've never ever seen the heating on for full 3 hours either.......if it's 13 or 14 in the depths of winter it's maybe an hour or an hour n a half afore it's over 19.5 once the heating clicks on then just clicks on and aff during rest of the time.

Reason for 19.5 is thermostat thingy is in coldest room ( hall ) so if it's 19.5 there I know it will be 20 or 21 in the living rooms, ******** ect.

Most people seem to be £100 to £175 p/m

We have been paying a greatly inflated price for the gas and electricity standing charges to repay the debts of the bankrupt electricity and gas billing companies. 15% of the cost of our electricity and gas bills is handed over to pay for social tariffs and the cost of feed in tariffs for green energy schemes plus the cost of installing smart meters by electricity and gas billing companies whether these smart meters work or not.

I was doing some work for a couple on Tuesday who have built a large house near Kinross and have a heat pump, the first year they had the heating set at 25 and it cost them ?12K. Upon inspection the heat pump was found to have been fitted incorrectly by the builder and the the heating dropped to 21 and it's estimated to cost ?8-?9K this year.
