Jeez, GP, for someone who claims to dislike antagonism on here you don’t half try to stir things up.

For the record, and taking into account that you and your mate the moderator specialise in deliberate misinterpretation and subsequent misrepresentation, what I said was that, imo, both Swale and I have exposed some of AF’s fallacies on a number of occasions.

Everyone on here knows that Swale and I tend to agree where politics is concerned, as I do with two or three others. Equally most on here may recall Swale and I having a couple of spectacular disagreements where football is concerned.

I know you currently feel the need to tiresomely criticise absolutely anything I write and rush to AF’s aid, like the class creep, whenever he is challenged, but I don’t need Swale’s approval anymore than he needs mine and I certainly don’t depend on his opinion, or anyone else’s, in order to form my own.

Now may I suggest you run along, put that big wooden spoon of yours away with the rest of your toys and begin to contribute like an adult.

Id say that rules out 95% of existing MP's (I hate to mention Dianna Abbot again), but I agree - it's not always what you say but how you say it that offends.

In this case, GP, it was very much a case of what Sarah Pochin said. You may wish to consider her exact words which were, ‘It drives me mad when I see adverts full of black people, full of Asian people.’

Like Sith I don’t actually know what she’s referring to as adverts are usually something I try and avoid and usually just FF through, but for the life of me I can’t see how that isn’t a racist comment. Perhaps you can and I’d genuinely love you to explain.

Of course she is entitled to say how she feels, as are those of us who are offended by her comments entitled to describe her as a stupid, racist woman who has said something entirely inappropriate and deliberately divisive in her role as an MP.

Surely in 2025 most intelligent folk have reached a stage where they can look past the colour of someone’s skin without being ‘driven mad’ or having to work out the quotas of people on TV, in the media, in government or in sports teams. It just doesn’t matter.

And I think you?ll find ?it? does or will matter. You won?t be surprised that as member of a populist political party she has merely picked up on a public sentiment, reflected by the massive majority of comments on social media today agreeing with her. And yes, social media DOES provide a guide, regardless of your personal use of it or not.

Bit confusing though. Reform and certain Tories sell their politics on the basis Britain is being over run with foreigners and the 'white brits' are ar risk of becoming the minority. Farage himself has made claims that he is scared when travelling on trains and can't hear a English voice. We are told schools up and down the country have no white children and hospitals are awash with health care professionals who can't speak English.

Now Pochin says it makes her mad seeing so many black and asian people on TV, they are now telling us the reason that's wrong is because white people overwhelmingly make up the majority of people living in Britain.

Which is it? I'm confused.

Daft comment. I usually try and avoid adverts so self evidently I can’t comment on the quality or otherwise of a particular advert. But that’s not what I’m doing is it? I’m commenting on the suggestion that Pochin claims to be offended by there being too many black or Asian people in adverts, because that is a fundamentally racist comment.

If I remember correctly - and I’ll apologise if I’m wrong - you have previously suggested that you too are offended by there being too many non white faces amongst the TV media, so it comes as no great surprise that you adopt the stance you do.

I?m commenting on the suggestion that Pochin claims to be offended by there being too many black or Asian people in adverts, because that is a fundamentally racist comment.

My stance is I?d like a grown up conversation on the subject which based on last time excludes Swale and yourself so if Sith wants one as indicated that?s great. I must warn you though, because I know it triggers you, I have some personal interest here

For me the it's two different debates.

I am not a fan of so called quotas. I am of the belief its best person for the job. I still believe, even today more black or Asian people are likely to be overlooked for jobs than white people. This is anecdotal (sorry andy) but it is my belief.

The debate over Pochin is different because all she has done is taken a subject which is one that may have valid reasons for discussion and use it as a platform for her racism.

For me i cant see how anyone can defend her comments or even argue they aren't racist, but I can accept the underlying topic is one that at least is worthy of discussion, even if I dont personally have a problem with it.

Lol. So you want a ‘grown up conversation’ but only with specific people/person. Brilliant…no contradiction there.

No idea what the rest means, why you’re warning me about your ‘personal interest’ or claiming elsewhere to have been a victim of discrimination throughout your business life. If you want to explain what all that means via grown up discussion, that’s fine, no problem. If you don’t feel you can, that’s your choice.

I'm sorry you've had to experience that. I've been that position and it's not a good place to be as it's hard to find allies when that's happening (in my experience)
