Not just yet. Mrs Shank is going to have a crack at it next weekend, I tend to let her sort things out herself these days, more fun for her when I'm not involved.

Unfortunately, a dampener has been put on things as I've just lost my beloved brother at age 83. He lost his better half, my dear SIL, in tragic circumstances some years ago and never really got over it. He had wonderful support from his 3 children (who have missed their mum terribly) but still found day to day living difficult. Hope he is at peace now.
I plan to carry on putting stuff up tomoz with 3 trees waiting to be sorted. Hopefully will lift the mood when done.
    Really sorry to read that..

My condolences Mac, its a blow at any time of year, but very poignant near Christmas. hang on to the memories and appreciate the times you had with him.

Thanks Swale. Yes the memories are good so that's great.
With it being the festive season my memories of Xmas of the early 50's when I was still a kid growing up are quite vivid. Boy, what a difference to Xmas now!
When you think of the toys we got as presents and what's available now it's almost beyond comprehension, but (and this is what's important) they were still bloody good times! Times thankfully I can still recall!

Tell me about it, we got 1 main present, with a pillow case popped at the end of the bed with as I recall satsumas, socks, a selection box and other odds and sods. But as you say we had fun.

Sounds like you grew up in the same house as me Swale! When it came to the selection box, things were very patchy though - a nice Cadbury box was a real treat, those nasty cooking chocolate tool sets were nasty - not unlike the Kinnerton dross of today
