Do you support the practice of putting the US army on the streets of cities held by Democrats mon ami? I find the militarisation of US politics beyond disturbing.![]()
Do you support the governement of this country stopping farmers from protesting and bringing tractors into London to aid their protest. Police having to lay down the letter of the law and all because they are trying to protect their livelihood and their families.
They missed a trick reallly because, had they adorned their tractors with flags of a certain nation, they would have had many others joining them and not a word said.
In any case, the way this government is treating Veterans, we won't have enough military to maintain security in this country before long, never mind putting them on the streets.
Blinking heck mein freund that post is way off topic. I had properties in Cumbria in the 80's & 90's and I greatly sympathise with the plight of British farmers. I lived in the Eden Valley and lived amongst the very people who help to feed us. The thanks they get is heartbreaking.
The British Labour party has had a long standing conflict with Tory landowners which unfortunately drags working farmers into this political malaise.
Also successive governments of either hue have shown nothing but disdain for our military veterans, the eejits who salute each while adorned in high ranking military uniforms, displaying pomp and splendour make me feel physically sick on Remembrance Day. It's time they got their $hit together and start ensuring our ex-servicemen & women who need help - get it.
Whatever your cause, whatever your protest Sir Kid Starver and his cronies are supressing it. Three years in jail for holding up a placard. WTF!![]()
Is it way off topic because I referred to politics and problems in this country rather than the USA, Israel or wherever else?
People with a political bent, such as yourself BT, could do something about events in this country, however, nothing is done.
The Veterans, their families and also those still serving are given more help by charities, such as the one that I do voluntary work for, than by any government and it is getting harder to help because less is being donated to charity.
Putting the miltary on the streets of the USA does not bother me one bit, I don't live there and it is their problem.
I've totally given up on British politics mein freund.
Racists, corrupt individuals and incompetents are not for me.
Me and the wife are seriously exploring how to go and live in Spain but Brexit has made that very difficult now and I'm no longer a spring chicken but hope springs eternal.![]()
Very sad BT. As you say, Brexit was the will of the people because they considered that it would benefit the country. Sad thing is that lots of politicians from all parties thought that the country would not vote for it and we were not prepared to fight our case.
We have gained absolutely nothing from it and it certainly isn't going to get any better for those wanting to move and live abroad.
sadly, we Brits are becoming pariahs as far as the rest of the world is concerned.
Johnson and Farage sold us an illusion and Farage now wants to sell us another.
Not for me mein freund.![]()
Indisputably, if the local mayor and governor refuse to sanction their own local police force upholding the law, purely for political reasons, then I'd bring the Marines in, never mind the National Guard.
What I find disturbing is the concept of 'Sanctuary Cities' where criminals are allowed some form of sanctuary from the forces of law and order. One step away from anarchy, totally insane imo.
The guy who burned that poor woman alive on the New York Subway had been arrested 70 odd times and let back out onto the streets every time. Now that is what I call disturbing mon ami, lunatics like that on the streets, the forces of law and order on the streets don't disturb me one little bit.
