That's not what I asked.
Also Jamal Baptiste is three years older than Ryan One and isn't able to get in a Sheffield United defence that hasn't been good this season and despite playing well for us, doesn't look like being recalled. So by your logic, if he can't get in their team, why do we want him?
It goes without saying we have been desperate for any fit striker up front this season and, it didn't have to have been a big striker.
Many a small forward have banged the goals in over the years. Was Alfie tall? It's knowing where to be at the right time and putting the ball away. You talk of having to be a big forward, wasn't Sherif and look what he brought. Etete is no better and both are big units.
I don't care that One' from the Blades is only 19, if he knows where the net is then get him over here and quickly. We have one of our own in Gardener, fast, physical, shown he can score but he doesn't even make the bench?
Who do you follow well enough to know if they have any prospects that would satisfy your magic eye? If you just go on league position then I guess the likes of Arsenal and Man City are the only real sources of talent? I hear the latter have a big lad playing up front who's tall, young and got potential.
OTM, I wouldn't call Nombe big or beefy but he's our diamond out of our pack. Size is irrelevant to us. Yes we launch long balls but if you only want a big unit up there to collect the ball, play it on, hold it up etc, you still need that goal scorer so for me size ain't the answer in our hour of need at the mo.
I get you ru66 my bestie. For the league we're in a big unit who can hold the ball and win a few headers would help. Though I guess not if his strike partner is hugill or etete.
I'm go smacked like a few others why Gardener hasn't been given a run from the bench. Brin describes his as fast and physical. Whilst it's his movement that caught my eye. He was always in space
Another thing whatever formation we play there's only James who can go on the outside to get a cross in. League 1 it's for direct football lump ball up then need some height up front to make something of it or it comes straight back at you.
Yes you would think the salford game would have helped some young players, but I am sure we will be told we don’t see these players in training and MH knows best, but we do see some other players on match day and to be honest if the young players are worse than some of those god help us.
