Thread: Were we too hasty to get rid of Big Steve?

Were we too hasty to get rid of Big Steve?

Never thought I would say this but I think we were.

Hindsight of course but I think given time he could have built something really special here.

Well in his 6 games at BR he has gained 4x the points MH has with us in our last 6. However that's hardly an achievement or a glowing reference and BR are still facing the FL trapdoor.

All in all I'd say no, but whether we replaced him with the right man is the topic of unending debate on here.

Don't you think he'd already done enough damage?

    No
He was the wrong person for the current RUFC I loved his first time with us and that game at Wembley was very special for many reasons one being it was my dads last game before he passed.
MH is a coach not a manager, in my view and having a Director of Football above MH might have helped, someone new not RS. That person could have sorted the Roundwood backroom staff part-time worker issues etc and left MH to coach. As others have said he must have something for Man Utd, Leeds and Sheff Utd to let him keep the young lads.

Replying to my own post!!I think it is too late to sack MH so a Director of Football above him is probably the best solution for us at this point, a Steve Bruce person might work, who knows?

Last season was a disaster, one which we are still paying for, whatever the ex chunk used to have seems to have left him as quick as his gut.

SE had to go as the relationship with fans and chairman had broken down. The subsequent actions however caused, and continue to cause much more damage than people on here have yet been willing to accept.

    Just re visiting this thread......

When Evo took over at Brizzy they were second bottom of League 2. Is he a wizz in League 2 or, did he got their Chairman to spend big again in the last transfer window?

Whatever the reason he's certainly got them on a great run of late. Yesterday Rovers earned a sixth win in their last seven League Two matches, that's promotion form. How does he do it?

They now sit very comfortable in 16th position on 46 points. They are also the joint most in form team in League 2.

A quick look at Warney at the Dons reveals they've just lost back to back games but, they still sit in second place.
I watched about 15 minutes of their game at Salford yesterday and I have to say they looked very average though.

It's that time of year we've all shared with Warney in the past, when it came to the run in. I still feel he'll take them up and that will be 5 promotions on his CV if he achieves it, good luck to him.
