    Things Could Always Be Worse

The Owls new owner has pulled out of buying the club at the 11th hour, which might leave Mike Ashley as the favourite to take over.
However he was unwilling to pay the 30 million the administrator set in order to satisfy 25p in the pound valuation.
If this isn't met then the club will start in the 3rd division on -15 points.

Weren't we on minus 17 points when we played our first game at the Don Valley Stadium?

And Bournemouth were also on minus 17 points.

Need to find an Eddie Howe.

I seem to remember we cleared the minus points deficit sometime in October which was a remarkable achievement.
We eventually finished 14th on 58 points and would have been in the play offs without the deduction.
Bournemouth ended the season just above the relegation places but Luton who were deducted 30 points finished bottom and dropped into non league.
We were awarded a cup for winning the "deductions league" and I remember this being on display at the club's temporary ticket office on the ASD premises. Don't know whether it's now in the cabinet in NYS reception.

If I remember right most of them were 1-0 wins, a memorable achievement.

Technically Darlington won but they were only docked 10 points, and that was in February, but long-term they were the biggest losers.

The massives should walk the league then.
