If Fergie was in charge these days I would bet there would be more youngsters in the team. Fergie played youngsters cos he could bully them, intimidate them and mould them into the player he wanted. Fergie got the best out of most of the players he had, is McInnes getting the best out of his players? Some yes, some no at various points in the season I would say.
The one thing that McInnes should be able to copy is telling his players not to give a damn about reputations of certain clubs. Its his job to send those players out on the park feeling 10 foot tall and ready to take on anybody. When we have played the cheeks this season, that clearly has not been the case. That starts with his tactics and his approach. I`m sure every professional footballer at the club recognises he changes to negative formations when we play them. If they see the manager has sh@t it, its not going to do much for them mentally is it? I still think McInnes has been good for the club but he is just way too overly cautious. If he wants to lift the Scottish cup this season, he will have to play Celtic or Rangers. Cant be going into a cup final with a negative approach. God forbid getting to the final and Rangers lifting the trophy in front of us! THAT scenario would be a deal breaker for me.
