This is a 2007 updated edition of the original 1972 publication. The author was embedded in the Spurs club for the entire 1971-72 season. It is probably one of if not the best football books I have ever read. Gives a great insight into how the players and managers and the clubs generally viewed the game back in the 70,s. Very different from now that's for sure!

About half way through the book I realized that it was all working up to the climax of the Spurs 1972 season which of course was defeating the mighty Wanderers in the UEFA cup final! Barstewards.

To be far though pretty much all the players and Bill Nicholson the manager admitted that they robbed us really as we were the much better side in both legs.
