    Maybe Shelvey was still unfit and Rondon was jet lagged but were on the bench to try to bring the best out of the players that were on the field. If so this ploy didn’t work as our midfield were terrible and the one chance Joselwho had he headed it straight at the keeper.

    So excluding those two players who would you have had on the bench in their places.

    Our squad is wafer thin with no cover at all, we used to have 11 purple players (Charnley Terminology) now we have at most 4.

    On a footnote

    Rondon played against Panama on weds and flew back from Panama City on Thursday afternoon which is a 19 hour flight arriving at Newcastle Friday afternoon !!!!
