Once again the concept of a break away super league is being discussed by several top club executives to squeeze more money out of the game.

The idea will be based on the top 16-18 clubs from each country forming a European league. The idea will be the death of football for fans as we know it, in my opinion.

I don't see how, as we are on the brink of another global recession a decision to take all the top clubs out of each league would benefit the fan base of each club?

Currently NUFC are ranked a pathetic 75th. Southampton are 66th, Palace are 52nd, West Ham are 50th, Everton are 36th for example. What a travesty our club has become.

There is no chance we would be anywhere near inclusion in a super league; not that I would want us to be. How could any NUFC fan afford to travel to Donetsk or Valencia on a weekend?

TV money is now the life blood of football; it's totally artificial and unrealistic. I absolutely believe that any European Super League would see 30% or more historic English clubs go out of business.

Football once the opiate of the masses has now become a lucrative business of billionaires to wash their money.

A move to a European league would have a devastating affect on football which is more than a sport to many, it's part of our national identity, part of the DNA of each community, in each city in the land.

I'm sure clubs like Celtic and Rangers would love it. However I think it would be a bridge too far, a tipping point that would send football into massive decline.

This isn't even considering the impact on the National team; again not that I really care so much for England.

What do you guys think?
