Sorry Mick but in our experience I have to disagree as those points are things of urban legend.

There are loads of cats by us. They sh it wherever they want; soft ground, open soil, in the grass (occasionally covered), on block paving and gravel.

I only ever go looking for their presents so I don't step on them, splat and smear them with the flymo or to avoid brown facial speckles courtesy of the strimmer.

Psychotic, personality free bird killing machines loyal to the next person who feeds them in my experience.

They're as cute as the clap and the only thing they've got going for them is a taste for killing rats and mice.

That and they bring the wife out in a rash. Much as she loves them they really don't agree with her which means we aren't owned by any.

The strange thing is they always seem attracted to me. Kindred spirits perhaps 😉 .
