    Notts vs Forest U23's [PSF]

Several first-team players were given a run-out in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Nottingham Forest's Under 23s this morning.

The two sides played out a 0-0 draw over three 20-minute periods in a fixture which replaced this evening's cancelled trip to Tamworth.

And our head coach Ian Burchnall was delighted with how the day panned out.

"We’re really grateful to Forest for accommodating us at such short notice and overall it was a good exercise," said Burchnall.

"Frank Vincent got his first 40 minutes and showed a lot of promise. He’s obviously just bedding into the system and getting to know his team-mates but it was really good for him to get those minutes under the belt. He’ll be available against Solihull and we’ll keep building him up through the league games."

Ruben Rodrigues also made his return to action by playing half of the match, while Aaron Nemane played the full hour.

We round off our pre-season preparations with a trip to Solihull Moors on Saturday.
