Who was delighted the season is over.

I've heard on all the podcasts and Newcastle United YouTube Channels people saying 'I'm so disappointed that the season is over!'

Why?

In August we began with miserable clueless performances where players didn't even know where they were playing and were completely unfit. The writing was on the wall.

Takeover goes through, Howe comes in, the team gets fit mid-season, Jan window - signings, up turn in performances and results.

However, this season was about getting over the line and getting to the summer.

This squad of players are not Eddie's men.

We aren't a really good team, we have some good professionals and a few gems. This is not good enough and most of the football we've played in the 2nd half of the season has been pragmatic, hardly inspiring.

I wouldn't want to watch many more matches against the likes of Spurs. We showed our limitations against a team that pre-Ashley we used to walk all over.

Eddie Howe want's to play many different tactical styles and have the ability to alter the shape and formation of the team 'in-game'.

For the most part this group can not do that.

This summer's transfer window is of far more interest to me than potentially watching another 5-10 games with the current crop of players.

Now I'm happy the season is starting early (1st August) due to the WC2022 here in Qatar, so pre-season will kick off around 3rd week of June which is only a month away.

That is far far more exciting for me rather.

How do you guys feel about it?
