The sacking of Martin O'Neil has me thinking about our current situation. Clearly, our club management team have all been promoted above their capabilities, and I'm struggling to see any competent rational coming out of the Hawthorns, these days. It appears to me, they are hiding behind 'competitive secrecy', but in reality, they have no plan B.
In the unlikely event of our promotion, is Steve Bruce the man to guide the team in the Premiership? He is the oldest manager in football, and his record doesn't stand much scrutiny. My hope would be a strategic mid to long term appointment of someone who can galvanise both the team, and the fans. Pie in the sky, maybe, but I would hope we are looking at the very least, because it will be harder to get the right person when we are in a dogfight.
