Our team, Alvechurch FC had the honour of being the venue for the draw of the first round proper on Monday night and had to wait until the 3rd from last ball before knowing their fate of a trip to Cheltenham Town. A tough one for them but for once I have a feeling in my water that they might actually break the hoodoo.

Games will be played the weekend of Guy Fawkes night when the Radio Sheffield minnows of Sheffield Wednesday, Barnsley, Doncaster and Chesterfield will be trying to get to the promised land of the 3rd round when the big boys like RUFC join the competition
