If it was down to Tory party members no doubt Boris would have got in but even if he did manage to get the 100 plus votes required the investigations into his behaviour are still ongoing and we could have had the even more farcical (if this is possible&#128512 situation of having BJ back as PM but then thrown out of parliament. In truth, him coming back as PM was never going to happen anymore than the Conservatives agreeing to a GE.

Think it will be Sunak now. Much as I dislike him, at least he seems more knowledgeable regarding the economy and although, as a Tory, he will never agree to any real financial levelling up and continue to want to protect the wealthy I do also believe that he genuinely cares about the country and its population. Certainly has more of a social conscience than Truss.

Whatever, unless the new Tory PM can perform a few miracles I think the majority of the public have had their fill of the Tories now and can see Labour getting in at next election. Starmer may not be inspiring but he is probably a safe pair of hands and personally would not object to him but still have concerns over divisions in Labour and the impact of the far Left. Like Leics, every time Raynor opens her gob I just want to slap her.
