Like wrestling, It's pretty obvious that the EPL tells officials who they'd prefer to win. It's not just Leeds that get's hosed regularly. A simple rule of the thumb is "top 6" first order and then London clubs second order. After that it's anybody's guess but you can rest assured that trips to Yorkshire, Midlands, Tyne and Wear or Sus*** will likely be punished. I think that the Geordies are too good this year but they'll get bent over by refs and VAR more than any of the "top six clubs" and will still overcome it.

With that being said the sub pattern and the lack of defense pretty much ensured we lost whether we had an honest ref or not.
It was fairly obvious at the game that Rodrigo and Aaronson had run about of steam at the 70 minutes mark so the forward press was starting to be less effective.

We are always frail wide at the back but it wasn’t as if the back four were under constant pressure it’s just they are crap per se when attacked wide.

So JM takes off Roca who with Adams had controlled the middle of the park and moved to a back 5 and so we lose the midfield. He leaves BA and Rodrigo on to make it worse. Once they were subbed with 2 minutes to go energy in the press was resumed.

He can’t see what is in front of his face which means he isn’t good enough.

We have the same points as this time last year and have conceded as many goals so any idea we are better defensively than under Bielsa isn’t born out.

He either needs someone as a number 2 who can sort these problems out or should go. We are reliant on other teams being worse than us too much.
