Not particularly a fan of his music but the furore over his latest video is yet another storm in a tea cup. Of course he did it to be deliberately provocative but he is wrong if he thinks the ***ually explicit videos of the likes of Madonna, Christine Aguilera, Cher and ump**** hip-hop artists (of both ***es) were not also criticised in their day by some. (Not to mention the likes of Little Richard or Elvis! &#128512

So he is non-binary, so what and he dresses in drag and has a body shape that is not seen as exactly "attractive" by many. Not my thing but it's up to him, I don't really care. But the point is, is that none of this is new! As Ian Mcnabb pointed out, does no-one remember Divine? Maybe it was because it was the 70s/ early 80s and we were more used to the excesses of drugs/"glam rock"/"New Romantics"/androgeny/ gay culture and so such characters were more acceptable to a degree, even if their appeal was limited to cult followings. Nothing new under the sun is there?
