Looking for a bit of advice as to how it works in England/SY. Grandson (7) is football mad and very enthusiastic so what's the best way around there (Barnsley way) to get him playing? They don't have boat loads of money? My daughter 'accidentally' took him for a try out with a select team without realising it and as he wasn't selected he's now down in the dumps. I don't want him to lose interest at such a young age.

Sorry if this seems a dumb question. All my playing experiences in England were obviously many years ago and primarily through school and I started a bit later around the age of 10. Here in the US wherever we've lived there has been 'recreational soccer' where kids from the age of around 5 sign up and get put on a team independent of their abilities.
