I thought when i commented on this people would focus on he individual concerned and that would distract away from the bigger point. The bigger point is why do we seem to struggle to get players in when other clubs of similar or smaller size seem to achieve it, all we hear from the club is "it is very difficult" and "everyone is working very hard" and both of those can be true, but the outcome (which is all that matters) isn't what we need especially in this window. So I have a theory (complete speculation), the board expect relegation and have therefore decided that no new money will be made available this window. We will complete (or nearly complete) all our cost cutting activities regarding the playing staff before we bring anyone in. That for me makes it a business decision and is no reflection upon the hard working recruitment and managerial staff. We may agree with that decision or not but I think that is what is happening.
