Newport County AFC confirm the majority takeover of the football club, by Huw Jenkins OBE.

The EFL today 24th January 2024 sanctioned the ownership change, after an extensive owners
& directors test & acquisition of control process, that will see Huw Jenkins purchase 52% of
the exiles, from the supporters trust who have owned & run the club since 2015.

Members voted by a substantial majority [98%] in favour of a new ownership model at a
special general meeting in September 2023.
On completion of the EFL process, the former Swansea City chairman has today officially taken
his place at the helm of the league two side.
The supporters trust will retain a 27% shareholding in the club, & two directors places on the
board, which will be Shaun Johnson & Paul Marks.
There will be elections for the two positions by the supporters trust, when needs be.
