The idea of this model is you buy at £100000 and sell at £1m, you then buy at £500000 and sell at £3m+, the signings are then at £1m and sell at £4m+

If we sell £8.5m worth of defenders, we should realistically see £3/4m in either signing fees or wages reinvested back into the squad - how much have we spent back in to the playing side ?

Renno, that’s the principle but it’s never like that is it? Every clubs looking for the players they can make a turn on and you have to be a pretty astute coach to do that and you certainly can’t rely on it every season as a way to further your club. Furthermore, if you’ve any vision to take the club upwards you can’t afford to keep selling your best players or keep changing your manager. It takes time to build a squad and to keep decimating it every year smacks of either an unambitious owner or one who hasn’t the money to run the club in the first place.
