Tin hat time, but I'm afraid that this video doesn't change my view.

The reaction of the "victim" and his mates/brothers to the police was totally unjustified and the officers were entirely within their rights to restrain them and prevent them from posing further threat by the use of "reasonable force". In the heat of the moment and in having to deal with such aggression, to always achieve the last is much easier said than done of course. Personally, in a situation like this, I would have no issue if the "victim" or other perpetrators suffered black eyes or broken bones if the officers resorted to punches/kicks/holds themselves In order to restrain them and prevent their weapons from being grabbed. It would be a simple consequence of the "victims" own actions and tough s hit.

HOWEVER the man concerned, sc rote or not, had been already tasered and restrained on the ground when that officer kicked him in the head and then stamped on it. Understandable with his blood up some will argue but these are trained police officers and we should surely expect better control from them.

Any martial artist will tell you that if you put someone down in a real fight that you need to ensure that they cannot get up again to continue to be a threat -but they will equally stress that only "reasonable" force should be used and that to exceed this whether to exact revenge or whatever will very likely end up putting yourself in court, especially when it can be proven that the opponent no longer posed a threat.
