Exactly as you point out; younger people will never ever know how good the game was. For me, the Ifollow coverage that I could get last season as a non-attending fan was a fair balance. This season, I refuse to pay Sky to watch my team. I will soon be doing 6 months in Portugal and 6 months here in the UK so may pick up some games, when in Portugal, via Ifollow. And that's only a maybe, if I feel like it.
Too much has changed, and I'm sure there are many more changes yet to come that we haven't even considered.
I think we are both worldly enough to know Arby and the vast majority of us are on here that breaking with tradition is fine if it actually improves the game for the benefit of everyone .

As you know I'm a Rugby League man , there couldn't be a bigger breaking of tradition than dispensing with the traditional winter game and turning it into a summer sport .

Breaking with tradition yes but improving the game for the benefit of everyone made it hugely worthwhile .

Do I want to stand in the freezing cold and rain in December watching Rugby League on a mud bath ? Or do I want to watch the game in sunny conditions in t shirt and shorts on perfect pitches ?

It's no contest and absolutely nobody within the Rugby League would go back to the days of Winter League .
