The Swans v The Hornets, Tuesday 5 Nov, 20:00
After the trauma for Swans fans of the 6 game winless streak, 5 without a goal, we then go and take Oxford’s unbeaten record with a 1-2 win. Lack of concentration and dubious subbing of players allowed Oxford to score a late goal, we seem to make a habit of this, making the score line tighter than what we deserved.
Anyway celebrate the win and hope we can continue this form into Tuesday’s match against Watford.
Watford are spending their second season in the Championship after relegation from the PL, so are still on parachute payments and able to pay higher wages. They are also supported by strong links to Serie A club Udinese of Italy, as both clubs are owned by the Pozzo family and exchanging players is the norm between them. In fact in their 2-6 win at Sheff Wed yesterday, one of their four on loan players from Udinese, Vakoun Bayo, scored four of their goals.
Last seasons fixture was a Watford 0-1 away win, sub Ken Sema scoring a late goal.
With Cooper joining Eom with a long term injury, our squad is pretty thin on the ground, and our senior players will have to step up to the plate. Govea was back on the bench yesterday after injury and Christie too, signed until the end of the season.
Good luck to the Swans.
