I agree, doesn’t seem much, although 100 quid in 1966 would be around 3K today and was apparently the single biggest individual donation to the Aberfan fund.
Maybe we didn’t donate to needy causes in the same way in those days. Wouldn’t know, I was on two bob a week pocket money back then.
My point was, it isn’t uncommon for villains to deflect attention from their more nefarious activities via seemingly generous donation.
