I get the anger by Waspi's over the turnaround by the Labour Party on this, with several high profile MPs having previously promised their support for compensation prior to Labour coming into power but surely there is a lot of disingenouity around this whole campaign?

To begin with, the plans to create long overdue equality in retirement ages was (quite publicly) first announced back in 1995 so no-one could really say they were unaware this was coming unless they never read a paper, watched the news on tv or listened to the radio. I do understand that the 1995 Act did not finalize the effective date and that the Conservative-LibDem coalition wanted to speed up the process in 2011 but, again, how many WASPIs can genuinely say they were not aware that these changes were coming and would affect them?

That there was a totally unreasonable delay in directly informing those women individually within a certain age group by the DWP cannot be denied (hence the ombudsmen 's support for a level of compensation) but it seems highly doubtful to me that the majority of WASPI women did not know about the changes. That the ombudsmen recommended compensation between £1000- £2950 rather than the £10,000 the campaign has been asking for surely supports this view? Or is this just me?
