As near to the 1930's sell out by the weak Allies and bully Hitler (with his then hidden ally, Stalin) as you could get. As before, appeasement, with the only benefit being time to re-arm. Shame on self serving politicians, duplicitous Germany and Italy - will no one learn from history?
