Today, the released Israeli captive Alexander Turbanov made a statement that shocked the occupying entity of Israel:
“Your kindness has been carved into my conscience forever.
During the 498 days I lived among you — despite the aggression and the crimes you endured — I learned the true meaning of manhood, of pure heroism, and of respect for humanity and values.
You were the free ones under siege, while I was the captive.
You were the guardians of my life.
You cared for me as a loving father cares for his children.
You preserved my health, my dignity, and my well-being.
Even though I was in the hands of men fighting for their land and their stolen rights, while my own government was committing the worst genocide against a besieged people, you never allowed me to go hungry or to be humiliated.
I did not know the true meaning of manhood until I saw it in your eyes.
I did not understand the value of sacrifice until I lived among you and saw you smile in the face of death — resisting an enemy armed with instruments of destruction, while you had nothing but your bare bodies.
No matter how eloquent I may be, I will never find words that truly reflect your worth or express my astonishment and admiration for your noble morals.
Does your religion really teach you to treat prisoners this way?
How great is this faith that elevates you to a level before which all human rights laws collapse, and all the so-called protocols of war crumble!
