I don't think the archive of previous posts stretches back to this time, so please remind me Bill, how outraged you were when Trump

kill Pence. Remind me how many people were killed or subsequently died as a result of the insurrection.

Remind me why Trump was impeached, and where he would be now if he hadn't won the election and forgiven himself for all his sins.
I don't disagree with the point you are making so well, Giddy, but the fact is, whether you sit to the left or right politically, the BBC have made a huge faux pas.

If you see little to commend Donald Trump, their stitch-up editing seriously (and unnecessarily) undermines what is already a clear connection between Trump's sympathy for an attack on the Capital and the events as they unfolded. You don't make something seem more convincing by blatantly fabricating an example of "cause and effect"; you just give those who support the world of Trump grounds to denounce and deflect from the issue.

The BBC seem to have descended to the same tactics as Murdoch's Sky News where in 2023 they did a similar stunt in cobbling together parts of a Biden televised town-hall meeting sponsored by CNN in which JB was made to look like a complete cretin. (OK, he doesn't help himself but this was blatant fabrication to seriously egg the pudding.)
