There's no need to implement a rule. There's already one in place about "ungentlemanly conduct". It is up to the referee to enforce the rule.Originally Posted by CALI66HAMMER
But the F A employ referees who clearly don't even know the laws of the game. Two relatively recent incidents prove this. The beach ball incident in a Sunderland v Liverpool game a year or so back and the goal that Eto'o scored

I don't see his arm movement as "lashing out". It seemed, on tv at least, to be a natural arm mnovement. It didn't appear to be done with great force. Carroll is a big lump and I think if he'd meant it then Flores would have been sparko and not able to do the multi roll drama queen act he did.
Certainly no a red imo. Possibly a yellow, on the grounds of being "dangerous". No way can any appeal be seen as "fatuous", which means an extra game ban, so nothing to lose.
When the opposition manager says it's not a red card then take it to the wire.[/quote]
Good afternoon Whisky,
I'm not tal
Didn't see the incident at the game but, from the replay, it's quite clearly not a red card. It's not even a booking.
What a horrible, cheating c unt Flores is.
I hope Webb watches that and does the decent thing and admit he or his linesman or both of them got it wrong.
Shame - I thought he ruffed it quite well other than that.
I was sat not far from it. I thought it was a blatant red card at the time even though Chico behaved like a total coward. Having seen the replay now it looks like it was not intentional and Carroll's momentum swung his hand around. I can see how the ref was conned. We are going to appeal. 3 points gained and Carroll available for the next game!

If the ban stands and Carroll gets shafted for 3 games and it costs us our PL status, we can always sue the ring piece outta Howard Webb thanks to the blunts and the precedent they set.![]()

Evening John
Atmosphere much the same as always - maybe upped a bit after the offing.
Flores became the pantomime villain
He took over from Shelvey who had the usual Harry Potter song aimed at him![]()
One obvious thing was how utterly s hit Swansea were. Have we ever been so comfortable with 10 men?
Glad we didn't get Bony for 13 mill too - proper sulker
Was going to ask this earlier, what was the Harry Potter song about. Not seen any of the films btw.
Thought the atmospehre was pretty good.
The villain of the Harry Potter films is called Valdermort. Shelvey's a dead-ringer.Originally Posted by JimmyV66
