The powers that be have to start looking at video evidence after the match and penalising the cheats. It doesn't help the team that are cheated against but it would go a long way to stamping out diving and acting if a few suspensions were handed out if proven guilty.

If they rescind the red card as they should,wouldn't it be good if the cheating perpetrater got the ban instead but I doubt if that would ever happen but cut out a lot of what is bad in the game

In a similar vein to your idea I heard someone on the radio suggest that when a player is deemed to have dived in the area to gain a penalty, the DEFENDING side actually get a pen instead.

Best idea I've heard for ages.

Not a solution to the AC situation obviously.
