If they rescind the red card as they should,wouldn't it be good if the cheating perpetrater got the ban instead but I doubt if that would ever happen but cut out a lot of what is bad in the game

In a similar vein to your idea I heard someone on the radio suggest that when a player is deemed to have dived in the area to gain a penalty, the DEFENDING side actually get a pen instead.

To be honest I reckon the red card won't be rescinded simply because it's Howard Webb..

It wouldn't look right for the FA would it if their top ref was proved wrong before the World Cup starts would it!.

They haven't got the balls to make the correct decision.

Got to agree that our hopes of getting the red card rescinded aren't helped by the fact that it was Webb who made the c0ck up. I don't think it'll be overturned, which is a real shame as Carroll was just starting to look fit and certainly had a positive effect on the game. He destroyed them in fact. I'm just glad it didn't cost us 3 points on the day.

Also agree that action should be taken against these cheats. Bans/fines are the only way to stop it. I think the rest of the Swansea players have escaped a lot of criticism as everyone is having a go at Flores. The way they went running up to the ref, waving their arms about, was pathetic. Just goes to show how badly they struggled to deal with AC as they were clearly desperate to get him off the pitch. They didn't seem too concerned about their "injured" teammate. Its stuff like this that makes people become disillusioned with the game. You'd be laughing at these shenanigans if you were a rugby fan.

Ref are human, and like us, make mistakes. Now a few have said that he didnt clearly see the whole part of the incident and had to consult his ASSistant ( capitals intended) ref. who deemed it a red card situation. After seeing the replays Webb could himself rescind the red card and save face.

Now how the F.A ( and im not entirely sure what those initials stand for) could redeem themselves a bit and do the right thing. Do their usual trick and put a cover story to it. You know the sort of thing i mean.
