    Barker on last night ...

Richie Barker felt his Pompey side dominated Burton Albion and should have won the game after another 0-0 draw at Fratton Park.

The Blues boss was left frustrated once again by another stalemate on home turf and insisted the Blues had enjoyed the upper hand, particularly in the second half against a team chasing promotion from League Two.

Barker said: It was frustrating because we created enough chances to win the game again.

We dominated them for the majority of the second half.

But having somebody to have the ability to go and change a game is what we are lacking.

We had a chat about what we were expecting from them.

For the time being, what we are is what we are.

We are scrambling points together and papering over cracks.

At the moment, we are not having the rub of the green.

If Patrick Agyemangs one goes six inches to the left, it goes in but we canaiit keep saying that.

I think in general play, we are dominating games but weve got to make it pay.

    Enjoy your day, Sp

I was following via The News text commentary - 'turgid' kept coming up from Steve Wilson. I'd like to go to games again but no way will I go at the moment.

Enoough chances to win the game, well I guess you only need one chance!

But 60% possession is good but three shots and one on target compared to there 14 and 9 on target shows the problems.

    Another dull game

And 8 shots on target in last five games is shocking!

I think Barker either needs to take lessons on dealing with the media or shut up. Every day in the news there is at least one unfathomable comment by him. He's doing himself no favours at all by continually talking such utter nonsense!

A couple of people I know who sit in the family section near to Barker said that he told a couple of fans to "**** off" after they criticised him for having a go at Padovani for not chasing a ball being shielded by two Burton defenders late on.

I have no reason not to trust their words, even if it may be exaggerated but surely that sort of behaviour is not acceptable from the manager, especially as the fans "own the club" now?

I accept that RB is trying to find his way of solving our threatened relegation problem, but I see a team who more often than not play nervously and without producing some of the basic football instincts. In this I include, better crossing of the ball (which in fairness he has noted)improved deadball kicking form free-kicks, corners etc.more shots from outside the 18 yard box with players in space to do so, more attacking wing play from overlapping full-backs, midfield players getting past the forwards and supporting the forwards in greater numbers.
RB himself has not taken it upon himself to make contact with the fans, no thanks from him at the end of matches (GW,AA always did)If there is some fan backlash over on his side of the ground - well he only has himself to blame. He (and his coaching staff)need to accept some of the responsibility for the dire performances. He consistently blames the players, the pitch, the weather. Eventually the players will stop playing for him. Perhaps s

If Barker was doing his job and telling one of his players too buck up why would they want to criticise him anyway? I'm not a Barker fan but FFS.

Fine in my book, if the fans are happy to dish it out they shouldn't be so precious if he dishes some back their way

Bit of the old passion is what's needed but on reflection maybe the family area needs some ear muffins.
