He can still redeem himself in the Summer window.

He has most positions sorted now bar the glaring omission of any pacy midfielders. If he buys a couple of quality players for those positions the team can be transformed.

No need to spend much money on full backs or centre backs,or wide players, they are all in place and the extra time and space bought by having some midfielders who can bring the ball out of defense with pace will bring out the best in the currently underwhelming Jarvis and Downing who wont have to go so deep to get the ball.

With his defense first, analytical mindset, incomplete CM's like Collison or Morrison wouldn't fit into Sam's plans because he must be sure that chances created/goals scored with a passing midfield, would vastly improve to compensate for the sacrificing of defensive cover.i.e Wingers playing as full backs and two deep CM.s

Is that a pig flying past?

You have such a fixed idea about our usual O.M. Whisky.

You don't think Carroll can play in a passing team..he seems pretty all round to me.

You dont think a pass out of defense to an already moving midfielder who passes inside the back for the winger to pull back for a centre forwards nod or tap in,would be greeted with rapture. All these Sceptics would think it was 1986 again.

    No big overhaul required.

I'm afraid I don't share the belief a lot of our supporters have in Carroll Mike.

I believe he is good in the air but on the floor Zlatan Ibrahimovic he most certainly isn't. Brendan Rodgers, who I guess knows more about the game than you or I, obviously decided very quickly he couldn't play in a passing team and was happy to write off around 18 million to ship him out.

But to answer your question I've never seen him play in a passing team so I haven't a scooby. But what I have seen of him leads me to think to get the best o

Brendan Rogers sold him because he knew Suarez was his chosen front man. That wasnt saying Carroll was no good just that he would rather have that A?17m than a an unhappy player on the bench, who knew he would get 10 mins if he was lucky.

brendan rodgers had a vision for his team, that was total football, high tempo, play to win and challenge for top honours

he was quite prepared to take the early hits and abuse to reach his goal, which he is now closing in on

we have a 'in the now, no plan b, no optimism of better football merchant that will keep you in the prem' manager playing 2/3 of the seasons games in a gash manner

who would you put your future with?
who would you choose to win honours?
who would you choose to entertain?

    toughie

    not

we need a brave decision to sack (unty and employ a combative but football playing manager at the end of this season to lead us into the OS

    won't happen though

so i'll swerve the place until it happens, fu(k it

    aim low get low

No of course they won't. But they are running a business, and anyone who is in business knows that cash flow is the lifeblood of a business.

There are quite a number of games this season which we have struggled to sell out. You've probably heard the radio ads on, among others, Talk Sport.

And a significant reduction in season ticket revenue would make any football boardroom take notice. Back in the day there was a long waiting list for ST's. That is not the case today so whilst I agree not renewing your ST would not herald the arrival of Pep Guardiola it would give the board food for thought.

I am not advocating that people give up attending if they still enjoy the experience of going to the
