    Financial Results Out

As expected as you were. Loans turned to equity and A?15m turnover.

    Not even a midsized business.

Spin on the season ticket sales as they were sold earlier this time with an earlier closing date and a more attractive offer. So they would be up over the period.

Spin on the ipro sponsorship which doesn't fall into these results.

All comments are about now and not the results. The term deflection springs to mind! - view external link

People are best advised to read the statement rather than Rattea's untruthful spin.

About half the statement is about the results up to June 2013 and the rest is looking forward. So why Rattea, do you say " 'ALL' the comments are about now" ?.
Suppose it allows you to miss out reporting the near 10% drop in turnover 2012-2013, for which drop in TV receipts ( which can be linked to performance on the field presumably - my comment)is given as a main cause.

Its quite legitimate for a board to point out promising things that have happened since June 2013 to give confidence. Given we are 2/3 way through the next financial year its quite OK for them to say they expect the turnover to increase significantly in the next set of accounts cos it will be based on FACTS.
Its good news that the loans from the owners have been converted into equity.

The comments are the bits in italics at the bottom.

These are about the loans if Bamford and Wisdom, ground sponsorship and season ticket sales for next season both of which bare no relation to the financial result posted oddly enough. Is that to simple to understand!

It's a very odd thing to do. Post the results then talk about something else to try and gain favour.

Love te comments about WUM. I speak the truth and you want is censored. You'll have people goose stepping out the ground next.

Really do wonder how stupid some people are on here

    Forgive me, but I read:

Overall loss down to 7.1 million pounds (within FFP).

Reduction in turnover - with some reasons, I have no reason to disbelieve these.

Reasons to be confident of improvement - new sponsorship deal and astute loans improving the team.

Of course the club puts a positive spin on things, thats their job. But the the numbers hardly look QPResque do they.

Why is it an odd thing to do?

It normal for companies to put a positive spin on their annual accounts, it's up to others to dissect the accounts.

Since accounts are basically historical data it is not unusual for companies to talk about positive things that have happened to the business since the year end.

Equally, if something bad has happened since that could have a material impact on the business then companies have an obligation to report that also, if the directors knew at the time of signing the accounts.

It simply helps others have a better understanding of the business.

I have been a critic of GSE since they took over, so don't have a problem with being critical if it's warranted but I don't see a problem with the directors comments nor the fact that the loans have been turned into equity, which is commendable.

Rat your posts are boring and negative.
You certainly are not more intelligent than others on here.
When I read through posts deciding on whether to comment or not yours are usually, badly written, boring and incorrect. It has got to the point where ignoring them is the best policy.
I think everyone knows that this seasons season ticket sales will not be shown on last years results.
May I make a suggestion either make your threads interesting or don't bother!

have you actually seen the results (ie the financial statements) rat, or are you just commenting on the press release?

If its just the press release, then of course it will focus on the future as much as the past - I am betting that when you see the accounts themselves, the content will be far more on those numbers with a few comments about "future prospects" in the Directors' R
