I think the only way to compare Clough's results with McClarens, exactly as they stand.

Just did a few quicks sums, now we know that Derby sat 14th after Nigel's run this season, with 12 points and a plus goal diff of 1.

Now, if the season started for all teams at Steves first game against Leeds, then Derby would currently sit 2nd on goal difference ahead of Burnley.

14th v 2nd?

If we had Steve's points per game average for the entire season we still wouldn't be in the top 2 but we would have around 76 points which would mean 3rd or 4th was almost certain, plus we'd only be 4 points behind Burnley.

When you take the fixtures Clough was in charge for and find the corresponding McClaren fixture it's actually remarkably close. McClaren edges it by a point, goal difference is the same, scoring one more und

NO ONE knows what would of happened had Clough stayed, he may of had us top of the league now or we could of been bottom. Truth is Clough has gone and he aint coming back.

Has McClaren done a bad job? I dont think so and even Rat has to admit he is no worse than Clough.

Rat STILL has to explain how and WHICH records Clough broke at Derby when he is adament McClaren hasnt.

I think it is futile to compare the two especially as I dont believe McClaren asked Derby to sack Clough?????????????

One thing I do believe is crowds were down under Clough and are now up because of McClaren, if for only that reason, I beleieve he has justified his arrival
