Given the injuries to Ward and Dawkins it's likely that he would be getting game time for us at the moment. I think we've got used to being spoilt for options in the wide areas and Steve has noticed that Sammon isn't always the answer

Perhaps it was because Steve figured he could sit on our subs bench as well as he sits on Chesterfields and actually be of use to us in the run in?

It should be fairly obvious. McClaren likes to makes substitutions if things aren't going well.
When you are down to just Connor Sammon as the attacking sub,as we have been, we need more options. Sad to say, Sammon's impact as a sub lately has been rather limited.

Makes sense, as we need the cover, but I'm surprised this didn't happen a week or two ago.
