Who are favourites for the play-offs?

Us and Wigan made joint favourites right now at 13/5 to win the play-offs, with QPR at 16/5 then Reading 7/1 and Brighton 8/1.

Who would be your favourite going into the play-offs? Us because we've been the third best team on the board and therefore deserve to go up & should technically be "better" than those below?

Wigan or QPR because they both possess players with Premier League experience and players who will have already been here and done it compared to our young squad, none winning promotion other than Chris Martin? Or will that also work in our favour as we will have more hunger and desire?

Or maybe even whoever sneaks 6th? May give them a boost in confidence and see them over the line?

I still think it'll be a Wigan v Derby final, with us beating Reading and Wigan beating QPR in the semis, although if that was the case I wouldn't be that confident on winning the final as Wigan look good at the moment and have a decent Wembley record. Too close to make a firm prediction tho

I'd say Wigan they are a good cup team and have wembley experience already. After that QPR and then us.

These are cup games, one offs and prior form means very little.

agreed. we're more than likely gonna finish clear 3rd and with better form than any of the others. as swales says if wigan get through they may well benefit from playing at Wembley already. apart from that we have to be favs.

    On Skybet...

    Derby & Wigan 12/5 JF
    QPR 10/3
    Reading 7/1
    Brighton 10/1
    Forest 18/1
    Ipswich 25/1

Our odds are terrible - I might take 18-1 for us to make the play offs but not to win them

re: Who are favourites for the play-offs?

I put a free A£10 bet on us at the start of the season to be promoted at 33/1

It's a total lottery going up in the playoffs, but one factor not already mentioned is that Mac has proven experience in knockout competitions (cup winner with Boro).

If I were a neutral, my money would prob be on Wigan (as their chin is currently up) or QPR (as they have high calibre players capable of turning in one off performances).

We've done so well already this season, I think it's important to keep perspective and not be too disheartened if we don't make it through the playoffs.

To be fair at 18/1 a crafty tenner could net you a decent return should the miracle happen - and I mean that in the least condescending way I can muster.

I'm not sure favourites tag works well, I'd back us to perform over two legs vs anyone (except Burnley and thankfully theyre not around). Unfortunately when it comes to a one-off game anything can happen... knowing our luck we'll get the Burnley ref and he'll send off Martin for tying his shoelaces in an offensive manner!
