Paul Coutts - The Forgotten Man

Okay so obviously he's been injured for the whole season, and I was reading an article about McClaren's selection problems for Saturday with nearly a full fit squad, and then listed our small injury list.

I actually forgot Paul Coutts was even a Derby County player. When he does come back to full fitness, does he have a role in the squad or will he be sold on? With a 3 man midfield, there's no way he is going to be a starting player and would probably be 3rd or 4th in line as a back-up.

Anybody know when he is back coincidentally? - view external link

I thought on his day Coutts was our best midfielder.

I remember when we first signed him, the first 10 games he played I thought he looked immense.

If he does get back in the team, I reckon we'll see him in his favoured central position than out wide.

Couttsy is a class midfielder and I think would be great to have back in a Derby shirt. Top bloke too with a very dry sense of humour.

I think Coutts will flourish under Steve Mac. He has got natural ability and as said he is primarily a central midfielder - he could definitely operate in our current midfield. Although not guaranteed a starting spot I'm sure he can compete and offer a different option.
