    One for the old timers

Just spent a great couple of hours listening on catch-up radio to "Now and forever let it be me".
A 2 hour Everly Brothers special presented by Bill Kenwright.. it is still available on radio player for another few days. Some of the harmonies are brilliant.. if you ever liked the "Evs" don't miss this.

Saw them a few times over the years. Great music but they often fell out. Once in the Guildhall they refused to continue unless the News photographer stopped taking publicity photos. He said Ive got permission, they said not from us you havent

I saw them a few years back at the NEC... the warm up act was a dire comedian!!! . The Everly's music was great but you really had to close your eyes to enjoy it as I thought their stage act was disappointing.

They were a duo who had loads of troubles but yes their music was great. Saw the late Gene Pitney a few times, once in Ramsgate. The warm up comedian was an ex Brentford apprentice who regularly played for their reserves plus loan spells at Dunstable Town and Barnet... Hes often on the TV now, Any idea who he is ?

The Everly Brothers. Ummmm! I had their defining LP, cost me 39/11 in 1966, fantastic entertainment and mellifluous voices.

Shame they didn't see eye to eye and produce more. One of the great unsolved mysteries of the late 20th Century, like: Why was Karen Carpenter not spared?
