Top 10 prem teams u21s and u18s are full of foreign players.

What do people think of the proposed 'B team' league being set up?
Dead against it myself.

I'm dead against, too.
Can't see the value of it.
More needs to be done, but this is not the answer.
FA claim the 'real competitiveness' of a genuine league comp will help players grow, but it would hardly be life or death for these 'B teams', and is a big kick in the teeth for lower league and conference clubs.
A more robust loan system between clubs, or a ruling to stop top clubs hoovering up talent they'll never use would work much better.
Spain and Germany are held up as examples of the system working, but their leagues below top 2 flights are laughable, not like ours at all.
If the top clubs and FA want young players to be involved in more competitive games why not ramp up the current reserves/U21 leagues. Award much more prize money or incentive based prizes, up media attention etc.
just another way to strengthen the rich clubs imo.
It's all about the PL as usual!
Anyone who is against it can sign the petition at "THE FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION: Say no to 'B' Teams" on Change.org.
Against, surely it is down to the top six of the Premier League and the other teams to a lesser extent to bring on young English players. We need to try and fabricate what has happened in Spain, France and Germany over the last decade or so. There are twice as many home grown players in the Spanish top league that the Premiership.Originally Posted by Toggles
I also think it has something to do with the number of foreign managers now in the Premiership. They tend to favour their own Countrymen or other Countries top players rather than giving our home grown talent a chance.
Talent spotters, and training facilities are also more numerous and better staffed than in England, our own National training centre in Burton being just one of our advances in recent years. There needs to be many more if we are to compete on the World scene once again.
think they should regionalise div 2/3 and conference get more local derbies going let the big clubs partner teams and cut down on foreigners and players wages

Can't see it working, other european countries operate this system but then their lower leagues dont have the history we have. A cap on squad sizes from senior to youth team may help as would a more organised loan system.
I think one of the directives was to ban loaning out any foreign players. Interesting idea that.
