    Bookings - Suspensions

Anyone know the rules re bookings in playoffs? Does a player getting 2 yellow in the 2 playoff semi finals get a suspension for the final?

With 4 players booked in the first leg including our only viable left back, how might this effect the way we play in 2nd leg and the selection strategy.

If suspensions do apply on this basis, Jamie Ward is on the way to matching his feat of being the only player sent off in a play off final by adding the suspended for the final tag as well!!! Might this impact selection for Sunday?

I don't think this counts. The cut off point for yellow cards was a few weeks ago. Like Forsyth picked up his 10th booking of the season yesterday which would have meant he would miss two games, the second leg and the final/the first game of next season.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure that if we make the final, the only thing stopping any player from playing suspension wise would be a red card in the second leg.

I think all regular league match yellows are now expired - just a question of whether 2 yellow in the playoffs also lead to a suspension for the final

Yes league ones have definitely expired and I think it's highly unlikely two yellows will result in a ban for the final if we made it. Would also have to mean if a losing player picked up two yellows they'd have to miss the start of the season, and at no other point of the season do two yellows in separate games result in a ban so why would it now?

Well I can't see it happening as it's a very harsh thing to do and the Play-offs don't follow Champions League rules and is a completely different competition.

I've googled the rules for the play-offs and can't see anything so unless anybody comes here with proof that a yellow in each semi final equals a ban for the final then we'll just presume it doesn't

Just had a look at the stats from our 06/07 play-off campaign and Seth Johnson was booked in both games v Southampton yet still played the final so unless the rules have changed, then no, a booking in each semi will not result in a ban for the final.
