The number of empty seats in the first leg tonight is actually embarrassing, total lack of an atmosphere.

With support as bad as this, I see no place for Wigan in the Premier League. They are a lower league club artificially elevated by their owners finances.
Try telling that to Burnley. Their average attendance during the season they've just had... 13,719!!!

There have been 257,922 more people at the iPro this year[/quote]

That's Burnley. They have been mostly a championship team.

Wigan have been a Premier league team (note that I say 'team' and mot 'club') for a few years now mainly yet can't muster enough fans to sell out a play off match in their first att

wigan are lucky they have dave whelen. they would probably be in league 1 at best without him. they remind me of Wimbledon.

Did it say how many of those were away fans?

If they make the final maybe the opposition should be given a higher allocation of the seats!

Sorry it didn't break the figure down. The figure was quoted in the Times, pretty pathetic amount.
I cannot see either Wigan or QPR selling any where near there play off quota.

Very surprised at you Ramondo. If this topic was started on our board the Usual Suspects (hi Triz) would be on it like a rash spouting that it's on the pitch that matters.

    Which it does.

I agree totally. The Wigan supporters do not deserve to see their team go up. Pathetic support.

Echoes a post I did a while ago trouble is Wigan isn't a football town hence the lack of a fan base however, one does have to admire what Whelan has done for the club which was non league in recent history.

you really need to do your homework...
the last home game at the DW the attendance was over 19,000 with 3,000 from Blackpool.. that left 16,000 home fans .. last night the tickets sold was 14,500
