I think your comment is, probably, made more in hope, PF.
I think the reality is more likely that SFC are just trying protect their investment and the lad is trying to maintain his career in an upward trend.
Of course, 'improved terms' may consist of a very good deal for the club, long term. It may also be a very lucrative contract for the player or one that he feels gives him security, for the time being.
Still not convinced about young Sam but I hope we persevere.
